Day 1: Lefkas – Meganissi (11 nm)

Meganisi is a beautiful little island located between Lefkada and the western coasts of the Greek mainland. Thanks to its proximity to Lefkada, Meganisi is the perfect destination for day trips.

“If you are one of those who like to visit places unspoiled by tourism Meganisi is the ideal place for you.”

Notwithstanding its small size (only 20 square kilometers), the island has plenty to offer, with lots of pebbly beaches with turquoise water, beautiful villages to visit such as Katomeri or Spartochori, and lots of walking paths. The two main harbors of Vathi and Spilia are great spots for dining in seafront tavernas.

Finally, if you visit Meganisi, you will have the chance to see the remarkable Papanikolis cave – the second largest cave in Greece- which is believed that it used to be the secret hideaway for the Papanikolis submarine through World War II

Day 2: Meganissi – Kalamos (11 nm)

Kalamos, the mountainous and green piece of heaven is one of the least known inhabited islands in Greece.

“Its beauty lies in the beautiful thickly-grown verdant pine forest which is home to many species of birds. Such forests are found only on the Sporades islands in the Aegean Sea).”

This beautiful isolated island has on only two settlements by the sea – Kalamos and Episkopi.  . Yоu саn find аll rеstаurаnts, саfеs аnd shοps mainly in Kаlаmоs, аrοund its picturesque harbor. The island has beautiful pebbly beaches with the most beautiful of them being accessible only by sea, such as Myrtia and Asprogyali near the port, Pefki and Kefali further to the south, Kedros, Alexaki, Kipi, and Trahilos on the west side – making Kalamos an ideal destination for day trips with boats.

Day 3 : Kalamos – Kastos (4nm)

Continuing the trip with tourism-unspoiled places, Kastos has only one settlement around the port and consists of private houses, a few tavernas and coffee bars, and small shops for basic goods.

Thе islаnd is аbоut 7 km lοng аnd lеss thаn 1 km widе sо it is а gοоd сhοiсе fоr hikеrs. Thе еаst соаst is prеsеntеd by multiplе smаll сοvеs nеxt tо еасh οthеr with pеbblеs аnd еmеrаld сοlоr οf thе sеа.

Day 4: Kastos – Ithaca (Vathi) (17nm)
“Ithaca is a Greek island located in the Ionian Sea, off the northeast coast of Kefalonia. Worldwide famous as the home of Odysseus, Ithaca symbolizes the return to the haven, the discovery, and the fulfillment.”

The island of Ithaca is mountainous and serene, with picturesque ports and villages, beautiful sandy white beaches, amazing views, and a small local population.

With its 27-kilometer long and 6.5-kilometer large mountainous surface, it boasts plenty of hiking as well as mountain bike trails in a sequence of blue and green alongside the coast and through olive, cypress, pine, oak, arbutus, and carob trees upon the hills.

Scuba diving and sea kayaking are some of the options too, while the Cave of the Nymph will give you the chance to combine an exciting visit with a myth: Odysseus had hidden there the gifts he had brought along from the land of the Phaeacians.

The port of Vathi is known as one of the most picturesque natural ports in the Mediterranean. It includes a town full of shops and cobblestone roads and many tavernas that offer traditional island dishes. The traditional cuisine of Ithaca is mostly fish dishes such as savoro (fish fillet fried in vinegar, raisins, rosemary, and garlic), and the traditional sweet rovani (sweet cake with honey and ground rice).

The beach lovers will take pleasure in a multitude of choices covering all tastes. Filiatro, Sarakiniko, and Agios Ioannis are some of the best and if you are looking for a secluded alternative, though, Gidaki beach is your best choice.

Day 5: Ithaca – Kefalonia (Fiskardo) (15 nm)
“Ideally located in the heart of the Ionian sea, Kefalonia –the largest of the Ionian islands – is famously known as the location of the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin”.”

However, the island has much more to offer from its exquisite beaches, stunning stretches of sand to its picturesque villages beautiful castles, and monasteries. In contrast with the Meagnisi and Paxos group of islands, Kefalonia attracts thousands of visitors who wish to spend an exotic holiday in this small piece of heaven.

In Kefalonia, you will see a unique fir-type tree species, with whitish branches and sharp needles, not seen anywhere in the world, hares and goats with gold-colored teeth due to the soil constituents and seals swimming in the azure water.

World-famous beaches include Antisamos, Lourdas, Skala, and Myrtos – probably the most spectacular.

“The village of Fiskardo is known for its cosmopolitan and warm atmosphere. There is a massive amount of tourism in this small village but it manages to hold its beauty against all odds.”

The main coastal road hosts plenty of shops, tavernas and bars and it throbs with activity during the summer. The traditional and Venetian buildings embrace the natural bay offering the village a unique charm while reflecting the rich heritage of Kefalonia.

Mostly for its amazing beauty, Fiscardo has become an attractive destination for thousands of visitors every year.

Day 6: Kefalonia – Lefkas (Sivota) (13nm)

It’s safe to say that Lefkas is one of the most beautiful Greek islands (This is why we chose it as the base of our sailing yacht).

During this sailing route, we are taking you to Sivota, one of the most beautiful bays in Lefkada, home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island and probably the most popular tourist resort. It’s quiet during the day and lively at night. The settlement lies around a blue crystalline cove amidst verdant hills and lush green forests overlooking the Ionian Sea.

“Its crystal clear famous beaches like Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Milos and Kathisma, the natural landscapes, the delicious traditional food, and the beautiful seaside villages create a magical scenery that’s worth visiting at least once in your lifetime.”
